What an incredible achievement Sarah-Quita. 3x World Titles in 1 year, putting the perfect end to the perfect season riding some of the best waves of the year in the final of the Aloha Classic. We couldn't be more proud or amazed by your incredible performances all over the globe. Congratulations and enjoy!!
Sarah-Quita started the year's run of world titles by securing victory in both the Gran Canaria and Fuerteventura legs of the newest PWA discipline, Slalom X.
Sarah-Quita won 7 out of 11 eliminations in Gran Canaria and an incredible 9 out of 10 eliminations in Fuerteventura.
Straight from the Slalom X course to the Freestyle arena, Sarah-Quita didn't let her foot off the pedal, looking dominant in every heat of spectacular, high-wind freestyle. She stormed through the single elimination to finish on top of the podium and then held her nerve in the super final of the double to claim the event victory and World Title.
Her biggest challenge of the year would be the Wave discipline as the world title race was wide open until the very last event. Sarah-Quita had claimed victory in Gran Canaria and Sylt but was trailing Lina Erpenstein heading into the final event of the year and needed to put on a stellar performance at the Aloha Classic.
The conditions proved tough with squally, gusty winds and big, unruly waves throughout the event but Sarah-Quita used her past experience at Ho'okipa and incredible talent to advance to the final.
Then in the final, she chose some of the biggest and most critical waves and rode them powerfully and aggressively to secure herself 2nd place in the event and an incredible 3rd world title this year, the 25th of her spectacular career.
We are all so proud of you Sarah-Quita. You truly are one of the most exceptional athletes on the planet. Enjoy your special moment and we know we will be seeing you on the water very soon!!!
