Massive congratulations to Yentel Caers on an incredible year of Freestyle competition, culminating in a 2nd place finish at PWA World Cup Sylt which means Yentel is now the 2023 Freestyle World Champion!
Yentel was knocked out of the single elimination in Sylt early by eventual event winner Lennart Neubauer and had to start his World Title challenge all the way back from the beginning of the double elimination.
Never one to back down from a challenge, Yentel began his comeback by posting the highest heat score of the event in that first heat and went from strength to strength as the double progressed.
He then went on to win 8 heats in a row, posting massive scores in every heat.
He was told that he had won the world title after beating Adrien Bosson in the battle for 3rd and 4th place and jumped for joy on the beach but he still did not let his foot off the pedal and posted a massive 41.9 points in the next heat against Steven Van Broeckhoven.
This is Yentel's 2nd world title, 4 years after his last win in 2019.
We are all so proud of you Yentel and hope you enjoy your celebrations!!
